8(a) Regulations:

Federal law allows Agencies to award sole source contracts to the SBA on behalf of an eligible 8(a) firm of their choice. The contracts can be awarded in limits up to $6.5 million for manufacturing NAICS codes and $4.0 million for all other contracts.

Checklist for Government streamlined 8(a) Sole Source Contracting:

Develop a Statement of Work and secures funding Government Program Manager (PM)
Submit a Procurement Request to agency Contracting Officer (CO) PM
Sends an Offer Letter (including agency contact person’s name, telephone, email address and FAX) and a Statement of Work (SOW) via email to: anjan.patel@sba.gov requesting permission to conduct sole source negotiations with Eminent IT. (Eminent IT will have already alerted the Business Opportunity Specialist to expect the package in order to expedite the process.) Contracting Officer (CO)
Confirm eligibility of Eminent IT and authorize the negotiations – usually within 48 hours SBA
Send Eminent IT a Statement of Work and a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) CO
Review Eminent IT Proposal/Quote (negotiate if necessary) PM & CO
Prepare a contract award document and send it to Eminent IT for signature CO
Fully execute the contract and send it to Eminent IT CO

This entire acquisition process should take about two weeks in duration.
